In 1992 Charlie designed the Chain Pup for WTB, the first compact and super light emergency chain repair tool. It drew much attention from other manufacturers and launched what would become a whole new category of compact emergency bicycle repair tools. The Chain Pup is still the lightest and most sophisticated of chain repair tools. It uses a shim that eliminates the common “stiff link” by absolutely assuring correct plate spacing.
