Licensing 

Charlie’s license of the Roller Cam to Suntour was the first time an individual licensed a design to a major Asian component manufacturer. The mutually beneficial relationship opened the door for more licensing deals that followed through WTB. Mark Slate, Steve Potts and Charlie designed the Trek 7000, Trek’s first aluminum mountain bike. Mark, Steve and Charlie designed and licensed 26 tire designs to Specialized, including the Ground Control tire named by Jacquie Phelan. WTB licensed many designs, including Grease Guard components to Suntour.
